Help DVD-R

I have a pioneer dvr-a03 and the usb external mod chip on my ps2. Using the USB external mod chip will I be able to load backups of my dvd based games? I have loaded cd based games with no problems but I am unsure if this mod will load dvd-r. If not what mod chip would you all recommend for an older ps2 version scph-30001?

you can't play dvd-r ps2 game on an external mod chip... i just found out myself....is that pioneer 03 a good burner? also if you want to play dvd-r backups you can get the neo-4 mod chip....i just order one....it works on all ps2 models except v2

Pioneer A03 is first class for DVD--Rs with 1.65 firmware or later. NEO4 has 44 wires to go wrong; Origachip has 15 and additionally boots import originals.
