fixed exe...wots the crack here

can somebody please tell me what a fixed exe does and how to do it......does it mean that you copy a game,in my case empire earth,download fixed exe,go to empire e folder, delete exe and insert fixed exe,then click that to initiate game.
right or wrong?.......help.

Install game-----replace *.exe---play.
yes you're right. A fixed *.exe can be a NoCD crack or a backup crack ('unsecuromed','unsafedisced') where you need backup cd.
