Black & White - How to extract CAB file

Game Fix gives details of creating backup CD but simply says "extract the Executable Archive".

I cannot get any of the normal compression programmes to open the CAB files because they are not in the normal Microsoft format.

Does anyone have the solution?

The program you need isn't any common uncompression utilities....Installshield installation system uses a diferent type of compression algoritm and u need special programs to open\handle it..
The program u need is ixcomp where x is 5 for old installshield installs(not useful TODAY for TODAY games)and i6comp for most installshield modern installations.....keep one thing in mind....to work with data1.cab,data1.hadr,data2.cab,data3.cab and so on u must copy it to ur hd AND remove the "read only" attribute.....handle it and set "read only" tick again or install will fail

One more thing....when a web tells u how to proceed it refers to extract from a normal zip or .ace file..not to unpack special files..........u must know first what they are trying to teach u!

If you have a Plextor drive you can copy it using these settings using CloneCD

fast error skip(read retries 5,error correction none)
read speed 4x or less

burnproof/just link (not sure where this is)
always close last session
amplify weak sectors
