Well - I'm about as far from being an expert as you can come. However, I do believe I successfully managed to back up my copy of the Flahpoint Gold Add-on/Update CD.

Instead of doing a 1 to 1 copy, I did a data CD. So, I copied the entire contents of the CD onto my HD. I then copied the "copied files" as a data transfer to a fresh CD and made sure to lable the CD exactly as the original was labeled.

I haven't had any problems yet. Hope that helps.

really??? that doesn't make any sense!!
so you copied everything on the CD to the hard drive, made a 'data cd' in the adaptec burning software and used the copied files from the original cd to burn it, labeling it the same as the original.
because i tried that, and because there's a safedisc2 'block' on it, it says 'please insert game cd'
is that what you did?

Yes, I should have elaborated. What I did, was as I described and you confirmed. However, I then ran the 1.4 patch and then appied the 1.4 fixed .exe. I have had no problems - as the fixed .exe bypasses the problem about the promt for the missing CD.

Hope this helps.

Yes - your right I didn't understand.

Your situation is most perplexing. I had no trouble installing the game with my copy and, when prompted for the CD (even though the copy was in the drive) I knew it needed a fixed .exe to correct this. After everything installed, I just patched it to 1.4 and then installed the 1.4 fixed .exe. I can't think of any good reason why you are running into problems, but then again I'm no expert.

Sorry I could not have been more usefull.
