A question for the experts.

Is it possible to transfer a game that has been patched to a no cd state, back into a game that will run with minimum files on the hard drive and the remaing files on a cd-r. (As in it's original state).

If so any chnace someone can point this novice in the right direction?

Not easily. You'd have to know what files you could safely remove and then go into the registry or a perhaps the games .ini file and/or both and change references to those files to point to another location (i.e. the original CD ROM). And then of course you'd want to replace the "No CD" .EXE file with the original .EXE

*Edit... you could also just re-install the game, this time using the minimal install option (I know that one's obvious but I took from your question that you didn't want to do that, after patching the game...)*

If you're trying to save hard drive space, why not just buy an additional hard drive? They're not that expensive you know...
Just curious as to WHY you would want to ask this.

Oh it was no problem. Also, I forgot to mention that by playing a game from the CD ROM instead of the hard drive might result in choppy sound or video or both, even on a 'fast' system. ;-)
