ps1 games on a ps2 with neo2.2

Playstation 1 games should boot straight away without any messing about. If they are not then the problem could be in the chip installation. I had this problem with my PS2 it would only play original PS2 games and the problem was that the chip had been installed badly and my playstation had to be exchanged and a new chip put in.
