The FINAL word on Operation Flashpoint 1.20 Fixed Update instructions

There is a CRITICAL step missing from the instructions that GCW gives for the patching process for the 1.20 version of OFP.

My recommendation is this:

1) It is necessary (and this is the step that GCW forgot, apparently) that you install the game and install it to the DEFAULT DIRECTORY! (program files/codemasters/operationflashpoint) Otherwise, the compiled patch won't run and installation of the patch will not take place. THIS IS CRITICAL FOR SUCCESS IN THE PATCHING PROCESS.

2) Don't mess around with the hex editing crap. In my case, it was completely unneccesary. All you need is unsafedisc. Once you have it, follow the GCW instructions up until they start in with the hex editing, and then skip to the last couple of instructions about the NO-CD/FIXED EXE crack.

That is all that need be done. So far, no FADE and no other crap. Any questions may be posted here.

Hi all,

See the 'REAL' "Final Word" by me in this forum.

The install directory has absolutely NOTHING to do with it. I installed to C:\GAMES\OPERATIONFLASHPOINT and the process described in my earlier post works. - Obviously.

Cheers,
nazz...
