hi, someone knows if ps2 pal can read the backup dvd+R i want to buy the new philips DVD+RW-D01

Go For A Pioneer A03. Works everytime for me and is a fantastic player.
For playstation 2 playback you need a DVD drive that records DVD-R discs. If the Phillips does this it will work. If it does DVD-RAM then it won't.
Also when buying the writer make sure you get good software bundled in with it Prassi PrimoDVD is the best and easiest to use
