what activates FADE protection in Operation flashpoint
using the same serial #'s in copies that try to play any type of multiplayer (lan or inet) will result in setting off fade. The original ISO release allows you to put in any bullshit serial # and the main problem is that a LOT of peopel put in all 0's or all 1's or things like that. If someone with the same serial number as someone else joins a multiplayer game everyone using that serial number but the original player connected will have their fade set off. By uninstalling and reinstalling the game and putting in a sutibly random serial number you can play over lan or inet or single player without any worry of fade protection or having a clone cd copy.

no its not because I have modified exes and the game works fine in single player, internet play, and lan play. I had never seen any fade stuff until yesterday when my roommate and the guy across the hall all put all 6's as their serial number. Instead of assuming you are right why don't you just go try what I said because its worked 4 times and unless you got somthing other than the clone cd or iso release it should work for you too.
