"open with" and "unknown applications"

Hey, I was wondering if you could help me. I recently downloaded a patch for Gangsters 2 and I accidently "opened with" Winzip and in order for me to get the patch to work I need to change it back to an Unknown application. How do I do that?

please help, thanks

Run it again... Then you will not have a problem. Just double click the file you downloaded.

Just delete it and re-download.

Once associated, you can only change the association to another application, not leave it unassociated.

Normally though, I would have expected the file to have been rejected by winzip if it wasn't a valid archive.

uninstall winzip to dis-associate the file.
patch your game.
re-install winzip.
