Can someone help me with Max Payne please?

I am new to this so i am kinda lost when it comes to making a backup of max payne. I understand that the oringinal max payne disk is 699mb, does this mean i need a 80min cdr to back it up? or can i overburn a 74min one? Also when i go to create an image file on my hard drive with clone disk it says that it will take 5hrs and this is on 30x read. Is this correct?

Thanks alot for your help

Hi Hugh!

Well, Max Payne is protected with Safedisc 2 - a real nice and hard to copy cd-protection. Because I donīt know your hardware (that means I couldnīt guess if your burner is able to duplicate safedisc2) please try the following to make a backup of May Payne:

First of all, create an empty folder on your harddrive. Only 679 MB of data will be copied, but this is alright. Copy the whole content of the Max Payne disc to your harddive-folder. Download the fixed .exe from the gcw-servers. Burn this all together on an 700 MB disc (overburning a 650 mb disc up to around 680 MB is quite too much!).
To play Max Payne, install the game (full installation), replace the original exe with the patched one after installing. Alright, should work.

If you like to try it with clone cd, set the "fast error correction" flag, intelligent mode, read subchannel data from tracks and set the error-correction mode to: re-trys - 3 and "none".

I hope this may help you. Sorry for bad english - I am a german, donīt speak english very well. I use the german release of Clone CD 3051, the flags may have different names.

Much fun!

Thanks for the reply but i am still a little confused. I have now created an image on my hard drive but there are 3 files in all. They are "image.ccd", "image.img" and "image.sub". These three files add up to 836mb so what exactly do i do?

Ok, There is also only a few CD-RW'S that will make a copy of Safe Disk 2 for you. (Which Max Payne is, and a tough one)

Open Clone CD, Click on "Write" from Image.
Choose "always close last session "only.
Now, choose the Directory where the images are on your hard drive, Wait till it completes.

By the way, what kind of CDRW are you using?
