I also had that prob after purchasing my ps2 at Christmas time and apparantly all the new ps2's out now will need the latest version of gameshark there is which is like a 1.93 and so far can only be gotten by contacting the team at gameshark. I emailed them and had mine within a week. Here is a link to their help page with the answer to your question, just click on their email link and tell them what is happening and that you need the newest update of gameshark. Hope that helps! I know how frustrating it was for me, and the store, LOL, I took my ps2 back 3 times thinking there was something wrong with it but everything works just fine now, including the gs2!
