Action Replay

My Playstation is without any kind of modul´s. Now I will buy the s-box and the action replay.
1) Is it a good combination?
2) Is the action replay a cd, so that I can back up it with my cd-writer?

ANSWER: It gives the minimum of functionality under modern circumstances. You won't be able to play DVD-Rs and EA games have to be patched to work and require a special boot method. Remember you have to solder 1 wire to enable the modchip to work.An internal modchip gives you greater functionality.

2) Is the action replay a cd, so that I can back up it with my cd-writer?
ANSWER: It is a boot CD and backing it up has no purpose as you can't boot a backup without booting AR in the first place.
