please help me to insert a patch

i am having a problem inserting a patch, i am assuming this can be done.i am trying to make a back up copy of who wants to be a millionaire,i have copied an image with clone cd,i also have patch to run the game.but what i cannot do is find out how to put the patch into the temp directory before i burn to cd, can anyone please advise.
