i am pretty sure the that game disk 1 uses safe disc version 2 and the other three cds use no protection at all.
here is a link about safe disc 2 copy pretection very hard one to bypass. ####://www.cdmediaworld.com/hardware/cdrom/cd_protections_safedisc_v2.shtml |

So... backup copies of Disks 1-4 will install ok, but:
When at last it asks for that backed up #1 disk again..it won't be able to. Is this correct? I assume so. Therefore the nocd patch offered is of no use. The nocd patch Myth 3 DOES work with a backup #1 disk, but only if you installed using the real #1 disk. That's how I see it. |

I was too chicken to actually uninstall all the way. The backup install #1 disk started to unistall the game and removed the main dir. Luckily...the backup 1,2,3,4 disks
reinstalled ( I saved my savedgame files). I used the real Disk1 to finish out the reinstall. I don't know why I did that. I had sixth sence if I'd used the backup #1 to complete reinstall, it would not have worked. |

Doh! I meant that, in the reinstall the games m3.exe was probabably not installed to complete the installation. Therefore that
nocd patch would have done me no good. Hehe, "sixth sense". Common sense is more like it. |
