CloneCD trouble

my problem: clonecd doesnt copy black and white or the settlers 4. it reads out the original cds, reports reading errors (as usually) and burns a copy. but i cant play with this copy - the games freeze obviously while #####ing if the original cd was inserted. i never had any problems to copy older games with clonecd - they were all working fine.

i tried the following: i installed the latest versions of clonecd including the 3.0.0.9 beta. i tried any possible setting by un/#####ing every single box. i tried and read out the cds with my burner, with my cd-rom and even with my dvd-rom.

my questions: someone managed to burn a working copy of these games using clonecd? then which are the correct settings to copy them? is there a new copy protection around clonecd cant handle? is there a new copy protection around my hardware cant handle anymore?

my system: athlon 1GHz, 256 MB RAM, ASUS AV7-133 mobo, Win2k sp1, dx80a, elsa erazor 3 pro with nvidia's 6.50, sblaster live with lw 3.0, burner: hp cd-writer+ 9210i, cd-drive: teac cd-540e, dvd-rom: asus e608, anything important i forgot?

your answer: please fill out! thanx!

regards,
belerafon

could a firmware update fix my problem (in case a firmware update exists...)? could i try a sony firmware?

or do i have to face the truth that there is no other solution than buying a new burner? if so, which one could you recommend?

You could always just use a fixed exe. Again, not the answer you want to hear...Sorry!
