Playing from a Bin-file??

I usually copy my games at put the original away for safekeeping, and play from the backup. But I recently heard that threre was a program that could let u play directly from a .bin file. So if this is true I dont have to "waste" a cd on it.

Anyone know where to find such a prog?`?
