PS2 DVD Laser Adjustment
I'm thinking about adjusting my DVD laser cause it's having trouble reading some DVD-R disks, but I don't have an oscilliscope or multimeter or anything like that.
Has anyone adjusted their DVD laser? If so, how much did you turn the DVD potentiometer? Since I don't have a scope or multimeter I have to adjust via other methods and I'd like to have a rough idea of how much I should be adjusting it. Thanks! |

hi i recommend you dont touch it . its a very precise adjustment usually adjusted with an o-scope using a reference waveform. the cd adjustment is the same but not as critical. it will work but wont track correctly at the end of the disc.

My PS2 is only reading Silver bottom originals. It just started today. I too was wondering what my options are. I know I have voided the warranty by installing a NeoKey mod-chip, so I am curious if I have any other options. I am completely unfamiliar with the "laser" discussion, so I was hoping for some other options or other words of wisdom.
Thank You. |

I have some probs too.
My Ps2 chipped with origa 1.25 boot everything, but sometimes it happens that the games FREEZE after a replay or when it's loading. It happens more often with some CD-R but it does with originals (CD) too. My installer will try to adjust the CD laser. What do you think about that. |
