Anyone get on battle.net with Diablo2 v1.05b crack from gamecopyworld?

I downloaded the new crack from gamecopyworld for the newest patch v1.05b and I get get into diablo2 and run singleplayer. However it was unable to identify the version when I tried to connect to battle.net. Has anyone had luck connected to battle.net with this crack?

Since Blizzard is doing some kind of check on the game.exe file with a valid version from their servers when you try to login to battle.net, I don't see how it would be possible for any client-side crack to get by that check. Basically, any .exe patches would only work for single player mode.

There is a way to get around this with DAEMON tools though. What you are basically doing here is fooling the program into thinking the CD is in your CD Drive. Here are the steps:

1. Re-install Diablo 2 if you've applied the patch, although you can probably just copy over the original game.exe file from the CD.
2. Download and install the latest version of DAEMON tools (####://www.daemon-tools.com).
3. Create an ISO standard image file of the Diablo 2 Play CD. I used Blindread 3. The DAEMON tools manual has a bunch of other suggestions. Note that for some reason I couldn't create an image with CDRWin. I tried that on a different CD-ROM drive than the one I used Blindread with so that may have been the problem.
4. Startup DAEMON tools and mount your Diablo 2 image file under the Virtual CD-ROM device.
5. Enable Securom under the Emulation option.
6. You should now be able to start the game without the CD.

I don't know if this is an issue, but I made sure that the drive letter assigned to the Virtual CD-ROM device is the same as the drive letter of the drive used to install the game.

Hope this helps.

Well, I have been playing on battle.net before they had the v1.05b patch out with a cracked copy. Have they been doing that check on game.exe always or did they just start now. I tried the daemon tool and was unsuccessful, maybe I'll just wait till a battle.net crack comes out, or just grab my orig back from my work. If anyone figures out to get on battle.net without daemon gimme a shout.
