STCC 2, patch v3.0

Don't know if this is the right forum to post this question in, but here i go:

I have made a back-up copy of STCC 2 that i use to play with, but now with the new patch (ver. 3.0) the game asks for the "correct" CD again

ok, i can continue to play the game with my bought CD, but i rather play it with my back-up just in case. Does anyone know of were to find a cracked path or at least what to do with the patch so i can still use my back-up CD?
