Any of the DVD rips of Burnout that have been released by the cracking groups have had the AC3 music & the 60htz modes ripped out to fit onto CD. I have a copy of the Wipice release which will only play in 50 htz mode, If I select 60 htz then it crashes the same as yours.By the look of it your'e patching the game to NTSC which is working OK but as soon as you get to the Display mode options you are forced to revert back to 50 htz as this is the only option available. This option actually forces the game to run in 50htz mode even though you've patched the image to NTSC.
It seems the only way to get this working is to rip the Original NTSC version to cd removing the 60htz option instead of the 50 htz (pretty complicated stuff)
