GCW DiabloII 1.04c nocdexe does not work!

When i copy the 1.04c exe (English) over the updated one and then start the game i get a message error in Storm.dll and still the "insert D2 CD".
Might it be that this 1.04c exe is the nocdexe for 1.03 made by FairLight DOX, because its size is the same and its Version Number is 1.03 and not 1.04.

Excuse my bad english

You are correct that Ren's "crack" is simply a copy of the Fairlight 1.03 patch, I wouldn't recommend using it. However, I tried it and it DOES allow you to launch the game, so the problem you are having may be something else. Try the US 1.04 crack and see if it works for you.

If you want to play with no-cd, be sure that you do a full install, and also copy the mpq files from the Play disc to your HD as described in the previous cracks on GCW.

I patched my D2 to 1.04b and then used your 1.04 US game.exe file and it did not work. Diablo2 told me that it could not find the game.exe file, but it was there. If I double click on the game.exe file it tells me it is an invalid executable.

I am running on Windows NT 4.0, the previous NoCD for 1.03 worked fine. I was also wondering why game.exe file is so small, as compared to the actual game.exe file from Blizzard?

I figured I forgot to correct the PE Header for NT/2K.. Keep forgetting about that OS. Ok, it's fixed and runs on 2K now. Can you try it out before I re-up it to GCW? I've put it at this address temporarily:

members.xoom.com/LordCrass/D2-104US.zip

Let me know if it works for you.

The reason the file is so much smaller is because I removed the SecuROM code sections. Since the protection is no longer executed, it's simply been removed from the file. Amazing how much space it takes up, huh?

This works great. Thanks for your support in getting this working. I will let my buddy know that you will post a new version, he too is running NT.

Thanks again!
- Yuri.
