Don't want to be a buzz kill mausschieber but I check you're updated conversation and now "Fifa 23" name is replace with "Unknown":











The Fifa 23 icon and setup is displayed now correct as "fifa 23" not as "Forspoken", thanks.

I see that you also modified the Redistributables path still for me they do not start to install automatically after the Fifa 23 main game install process.

Did you ever tried to use external Setup.ini file for the redistrutables?

Tried but without luck because I do not own the knowledge to to so.
14 years ago conversations were editable and easy, could modify powershell lines, etc example back in 2009:

Sure it's not complicated what you are mentioning KaktoR, just have to have to correct files, the correct path to the files and the code to trigger the automatically setup process but I had 10 years "brake" of pc game conversion and forgot some stuff.
That is why when I ask a question here or at work or everywhere I asked it so that the answer that I need and receive to be complete and with all the steps.

random ex: How to mux a .srt to an mkv so that the movie should have automatically EN subtitle started when playing the movie?

1) install mkvtoolnix-gui
2) add the movie source
3) add the .str source
4) customize .srt option and select default track and forced displayed track to YES.
etc etc.

Hope you get my point. When providing an answer that answer has to be complete not just 2 words.


Never the less now if mausschieber could only fix the name back to Fifa 23 in his installer/setup and I can put this to bed, it already took a lot of time for all of us.

This is more than a detailed and complete answer to my question so mausschieber, thank you very much for this!

Now the correct "Fifa 23" is displayed everywhere, thank you for the fix.

Regarding to those annoying Redistributables.

The first time that I tried your updated path code to the Redistributables it kind of worked because I had this message at the end of Fifa 23 install process setup:



But, normally when you try and install an application/program/software that you already have installed on your machine you will get the message that you already have that application/program/software installed and you have the option to "repair" or "uninstall" or just "Close/Exit" just like in this example, depending on the program.

And I say this because I already have all the redistributables that are in the "__Installer" folder installed in my PC as we all have for a few years ago when needed a specific game or program.

I would have thought that normally I would get this message when installing Redistributables from the Fifa 23 setup:



The picture above is when trying to install Net Framework manually with double click from the "__Installer" folder.

But instead I get the message that Fifa 23 is completely installed and it is finished.

My question is that is there a "silent" install mode for your Redistributables that you put in your setup so that you do not get prompted with a normal install for each like this:





Also installing 5 different Redistributables would take some additional time in the Fifa 23 setup process but instead I only get to see the "Net Framework" being installed for a few seconds and then the Fifa 23 install process is finished without seeing anything related to any of the 5 "Microsoft Visual C++" Redistributables.

This is not so important but I would like to understand this mechanism, my only idea is that there is a "silent" install process otherwise the install process window would have to appear for every of the 5 Redistributables that are in the "__Installer" folder.

This bug occurs on the Chinese (Simplified) system, but may occur on other systems that do not have standard UTF-8 encoding.

The solution is to change the Windows setting "Languages for non-unicode programs" to "English (United States)" in:

WINDOWS 10: "Settings" >> "Time and Language" >> "Region" >> "Additional date, time and region settings" >> "REGION" >> "Administrative" >> "Languages for non-unicode programs" >> "Change System Locale" >> Chinese (Simplified, China)

WINDOWS 11: "Settings" >> "Time & Language" >> "Language & Region" >> "Administrative Language Settings" >> "Languages for Non-Unicode Programs" >> "Change System Locale" >> Chinese ( Simplified, China)
