Another sucessfully Origa moded PS2(USA/NTSC)
I got my OrigaChip successfully installed in my USA NTSC V3 PS2. I used the V3 Pal diagram, just do not connect B6.
When testing, you must reattach the metallic screen (the one that you must remove in order to see the mother board) for the PSX games to work. Boot methods with GS2: PSX original / import / backups – Just put the disc in and it boot PS2 original / import – Just put the disc in and it boot PS2 CD Backups - Boot up with GS2, put backup disc in, start game with or without code. PS2 DVDRs – not tried yet, cause I don’t have any. p.s. The installation for a OrigaChip on a V3 PS2 is not for newbies, if you don’t have enough soldering skill and good tools, you will screw up your machine. The Origachip really a good chip. It boot everything the first try. I just go wow watching it boot all my games. The only thing right now is how to get my hands on some DVDR for testing. |

Congrats Spy_007z!!!
Another great job and satisfied customer! If you just let your neighbors see your PS2 and they'll go nuts... (imagine a universal PS2?) Btw Charlie are they (origa) gonna pay us? (for the advertisement?)... just joking.. lol! :-) and again to spy_007z CONGRATS! and happy Playin! (now you can play jap imports too! he!he!he! And you'll be first in playing them... like upcoming tekken 4 and Onimusha 2 this March 2002..) |

Yea... I am so happy about the chip. It works just great. I should have go for this chip instead of wasting all the days watching the M chip news.
Also if I wanted to change to a M chip later, the soldered wire can be reuse too. So I would suggest Origachip to anyone... It is a really good chip and I have no complain about it except it's confusing installation instructions. However... I got around it and I think anyone else can + I am willing to help if you got questions on Origa for US V3 PS2. |

LIL LARK: No, you have to take out your Origachip but the soldered wire can be reuse.
jumpstart : I ordered my chip from lik-sang on Dec 24th and arrived JAN 2nd. It is a bit long but I think it is because of the busy Xmas session and holidays.... and I live in Canada. |

1 mm is too much. max. 0.4 mm.
if you can't find one that small, use a dremel or similar device to file down the tip to make it thinner.. just make sure it's smooth, and you'll need a new tip afterwards.

For Milk:
It is not xbox, it is sbox = USB Mod for PS2, you only need to solder one wire for this mod. For subzero: 1 mm can do the job but a lot harder. I used my dad's iron (because I am cheap and don't want to buy one) to solder the chip and it is 1 mm. It could be a lot easiler if I use a thinner one. If you are less skillful or want to play safe, you can try file your tip as Arakon suggested. Last edited by Spy_007z; 05-04-2002 at 15:26. |
