ps2 external mod chip

hello ,im thinking of buying a ps2 sbox external modchip,do they work,and it says to use with gameshark 2 ,do i need gameshark 2,thanks for your help

yup, it works. i'm using a SBOX with GS2, have no problem playing CD backup games but comes a time when i lost all the GS codes when i put in too many new codes but still usable.

My advice is to have an internal modchip fitted. You get far greater functionality. You can play DVDRs with little problem and EA Sports games can be copied with CloneCD without the need for that wretched EA patching process.

If you get the right internal chip, you can play import original games with no swap. A USB modchip will sooner rather than later fall short of your requirements as you get into this stuff.
