help!! european console + ntsc game???
hey, i've got a european psx (chipped). question is: will it also play 'backup versions' of games burned in north america that work on north american psx's?? i don't quite understand the whole pal/ntsc/geographic coding thing. i have a tv which will play NTSC as well as PAL, so that is not a problem. just need to know if the european *playstation* itself will play american-version games.
to any answers, opinions, or inputs (even if you're not sure).... THANKS!!!!! |

www.getmoresun.com has rgb cables which'll enable you to play PAL and NTSC games in color and with sound without you needing to patch the game first.
i use the RGB Cable myself and i can play any version of any game without problems. |

On a normal PAL european console you should not be able to play a NTSC game... I tried that... but with a modded PS there should be no problem... the only problem is that the colors may display in Black-and-White... then you have to buy a better cable... one of those scart cable's... with your PAL playstation you originally get one of those 3-tulip-plugs-to-scart cable's...
But even with (or without) a good cable you can still have Black and White... (especially experienced problems with ###ne)... some games still display in B&W... but other NTSC games are color... then you can try a special bootdisk which allows you to choose a video mode... so you can play NTSC games in PAL... that should solve all problems... |
