Well actually i have psx1. So now i've tried to copy a rental game called toca1. I now it's not protected and since it's an old game info should be available. I could copy it with nero (on the fly) and also with clone cd using cd image (couldn't copy using (on the fly). Both games worked well bu stalked when it loaded a level.
What caused this error. Is there a difference between rental games and original games.

To be able to make working backups of most playstation games I recommend all the software below

CloneCD
CDRwin
Nero

All are good programs, If one cant copy a certain game with one try a different program.. don't do what so many people do and just use one program.

For example
I could not backup Tony Hawks 3 using Clonecd but Nero made a perfect copy, same for Gran Turismo 2 and many others.

Nor could a make a 100% working copy of Harry potter using CloneCd but CDRwin worked a treat same for fifa 2002.

I do always try CloneCD first because true it does work with most games...but not all..

CDRwin however is the only program that you can use when patching games

Use Nero with these settings

Read Options

Tick Ignore illegall TOC
On Unreadable data tick continue copying

Data Mode One Force Raw Reading
Data Mode two Face Raw Reading (if this is not available try reading with your burner)

Audio Tracks
Tick Read Audio data with Sub channel
Tick Ignore read errors

Hope this helps

I agree with Charlie, Clonecd or Cdrwin are the best for PSX games. Not to offend you Pauld but you settings for nero are incorrect, Because no playstation game should contain errors you should always select abort, try these settings. Do not Tick Ignore illegal TOC
On Unreadable data tick abort reading

Data Mode One Force Raw Reading
Data Mode two Face Raw Reading, select write uncorrected

Audio Tracks
Tick Read Audio data with Sub channel
DO not Tick Ignore read errors

Teek,

my sincere advice is NEVER tick anything that ignores read errors. Original games should not have read errors or bad sectors. All current protection or whatever is done through ISO compatible methods.

It is 90% certain (going by the size of what's in a game) that a read error on an original disk will be in an important place and the game will crash.
