My better advice for DVD9 or BD is to split files in 1Gb or 2Gb at most!!
The reason is that it's better to have multiple files in one disk and that will prevent many files to be altered from scraches caused to the DISK surface.
I have tested compression with DVD5 sizes and will test with DVD9 later
