Trying to patch Crash Team Racing but won't work!!

Hiya can anyone pleeeeeease help me. I've been trying to patch crash team racing but just ended up with a rather fetching set of coasters!!. I'm using a pal/multi crack from kalisto, then using cdrwin at 2xspeed to create the cue sheet, then using ppf-o-matic2 to apply the patch, then using cdrwin at 1xspeed to write onto a verbatim disc but even tho I have tried several different speeds etc and different discs, the bloody thing freezes at exactly the same spot, just after the "naughty dog" intro right at the beginning.(Aaarrrrgggghhhh!!!!!)
What am I doing wrong!!??
