This is not a DVD game is it? If it isn't, isn't it just copying normally with cdrwin or some other software? I don't know how to copy ps2 games but if you know how to do it, it should be the same procedure.

DVD ripping is still a complex art and, in my view, will cost you more than it takes to buy the legal copy. When the ClonCD equivalent for DVDs comes, then we'll all breathe a sigh of relief in being able to make backups of our DVD games assuming there's no protection for which there is no patch.
In the meantime, if you are serious about doing a DVD RIP, go to www.megagames.com for the in depth tutorial on the subject and searchg this forum under "DVD Rip" so that you can see what's on the road ahead, who has succeeded and what the problems might be. Good luck |

Nook, you'll find more and more games coming out on DVD now. The original CD games were sort of rushed out for PS2 release and were little more than variations on PS1 counterparts. hence they didn't need more than a CD's worth as the improved speed of the PS2 took care of matters initially. Now, games have more sophisticated scenes (as per GT3 tree shadows, for example) and game strategies that take weeks to complete. All this content and sophistication (demanded by the customer) requires disk space as offered by DVD.
You can bet that CloneDVD is likely to be round the corner, especially with NEO4 coming. Then we'll get those ridiculous situations of people trying and failing to crack CloneDVD and wondering why they are burning really expensive coasters! |
