How to recognise fake memory cards and controllers?
Please help me to recognise fake memory cards and controllers for PSX, as I purchase them from grey market without warranties.

do they label them with Sony's SCPH all Sony products have and SCPH beginning the model number, both of the Sony dual shock controllers I'm looking at right now where made in Korea, now I went a little further, I opened up both controllers looking for identical numbers. Both controller curcuit boards ####t there numbers with KSA1Q my blue dual shock is KSA1Q19A my green is KSA1Q22A both boards in the middle of the controller have the numbers KC-15 with a white triangle and under that >PF-LP<
WARNING!! in order to ##### these numbers you have to open your controller and most important be able to put it back together!! |

You will probably find that it is almost impossible for the likes of you and i to spot the difference between a genuine Sony product and a well made fake as even the serial and model numbers would match the same system used by Sony! A badly made copy should to some degree show some flaus in its construction like badly printed or smudged logos or poor quality materials used.
This is probably best left to the experts!
