Gameshark 1.9

Hi guys my friend has an usb mod and as you know, needs a gameshark to play ps2 backups. We're in the US and went to a toyrus where they had a lotta gamesharks but none had version numbers on them. Now the original psx gamesharks toyrus had, did have the ver numbers on a small white sticker on the back. However there was nothing we could see denoting the ver number. I did see a copyright of date of "1996-2000" so I told my friend if it was the lastest ver shouldn't it at least say something like 1996-2001. He agreed and decided not to get it. We're going to try best buy next but what if their's is like the ones at toyrus? How do we find out the version number.
Thanks guys any help is greatly appreciated.
P.S. We also tried funcoland-gamestop.com and their's didn't have a ver number either. Of course it was the very last one on display.

I just brought a Gameshark with out a sticker on the back and the copy right also said 1999-2000. However it is a version 1.9.

So I would say, a lot of new Gameshark they shipped do not have the sticker at the back.

If you brought it and found that it is not the right version, you can always get an update from Gameshark, or just bring it back to where you bought the Gameshark and tell them you got the newest PS2 with a date code "1C" and the Gameshark you just bought does not work with it. They will have to exchange with you.

Hope this help.

Thanks a lot guys but guess what? We went to best buy o buy a gameshark because it was on sale this week for $35 or $36 bucks. We couldn't find any at best buy and the store was a mess. So we went to this gamestop in the mall and they had ver 1.9 with the sticker on back for like $50. My friend had a 10% off card so after ta it was still like $50. He should've had our other friend who works in a gamestop use his discount. I think he said he gets 25% off. Oh well, thanks anyway guys.
