Gameshark v1.6 booting questions

I have a Neo 2 in my Psx2.
I have a New Gamshark v1.6.
I can get backups to boot about 30-40% of the
time, By swapping the CD's quickly and
hitting the 'X'

Someone suggested to hit 'O'+R1
This doesn't work either, this only causes
the GS menu to GO BACK to previous
screen. Also tried O+R1+R2
Same problem, doesn't load.

Are there any tips for loading back ups
with GS 1.6?

i use L1+O works but its a very slow boot up.. its slow when ever it loads anything..?

dont know why ? maybe u can help?
