Protected Copies?

I'm trying copy a mates backup of WWF Smackdown and SSX Tricky using both CDclone and Blindwrite Suite. However when i try to play it SSX Tricky it hangs when loading Elysiums Alps and WWF allows you to select options then hangs just before the match loads, (my mates copies work perfectly). When copying with Blindsuite it completes but there is an "Error performing OPC : Code 05 20 00 [Illegal request. Invalid command opcode]" Any one know what this means? and whether this is causing the problem.

If your mate's copy works perfectly then CloneCD is probably the best method to copy the CD. Writer must be fully compatible, supporting RAW-DAO+96. That copies the protection subchannel data across.

Opcode error can be anything (unless they publish the meanings which they don't) but most commonly buffer under-run (defrag your hard disk and/or lower burn speed) or data capacity of receiving CD exceeded.

The 96 bytes of SubChannel data that contains copy protection data on non-audio disks.

You need to set Read SubChannel Data for CloneCD READ mode together with Abort on Read Error and Don't Repair SubChannel Data on write and not burn faster than 4x.

If you do that with a working source CD and your modchip is the same CloneCD will gove you a working copy - so far as I can see.
