Anti-mod chip protection and CloneCD

Hi I read that some games now have an anti-mod protection on it where they can detect if your playstation has the chip on it and then won't allow the game to play. How do you get past this? My other question is, when would you encounter a *.cpd file? I use CloneCD only right now as it's the best and my drive is supported 100% (TDK veloCD). Is there ever a time when CloneCD is not the best?

BOT is on a distinguished road
CloneCD is useless for modchip protected games.
You need to use CDRWin and apply a patch to defeat the protection.
