Hi. I bought a Neo Key USB Mod, and a Gameshark 2 (new, v.1.9 i think). I bought my PS2 after I ordered all the mod hardware. Turns out my PS2 is an NTSC 30001 R model. The serial begins with a U1, and I'm pretty sure it is a v.4since everything inside matched all of the diagrams. I cannot get my PSX cd-rs to boot. Here is my question:

I read that model 30001 R is not compatible with the Neo Key, although the site I got it from said that the Neo Key is compatible with ALL U.S. PS2s. I also read that the v. 4 needs a Gameshark 2 v1.4 (1.3 w/ factory upgrade). Is this all true, or can I use what I have?

I've read so many conflicting reports, and boot methods. Could someone please tell me if I have the necessary hardware for my 30001 R, and how to boot games? Thanks!
