switch installation heLp for pu-18

im trying to make backups of my games and need help remodifying my psx

scph:5501
mod chip: four wired
dont know which particular chip i have, let a buddy install it years ago..
the wire orientaion goes as followed

pin 1 - red
pin 5 - yellow (i think my buddy swapped this and green, no big deal jess wire eh.)
pin 6 - green
pin 8 - black

i just wanted to verify whether pin1-switch-main board would work properly to aid in lockouts

The colouring of the wires bares no importance to the final running of the psx after install so no need to worry about that.

By rule of thumb pin 1 is +V (red(positive volts)) and pin 8 is -V (black(zero volts)), it would be best to switch both of these lines to completely isolate the mod chip. Use a small DPST (Double Pole Single Pole) toggle switch.
