CD-Exchanger / CDR make Question
Equipment - Ricoh MP7080A / ###NE / Nero / CloneCD / CD-Exchanger
I have now managed to burn a good number of 'coasters' for games that are not protected, eg Tomb Raider 2, Wipeout 1 and 2097. This is despite using recommended settings for the both software packages, this leads me to ask two things- 1 Is the the CD-Exchanger more picky than a mod chip. I.E. Could a chipped ###ne play these 'coasters' where as the Exchanger can't ? 2 I have recently used up my stock of Memorex 700mb CDR's and started using Imation 700mb CDR's. I seemed to have a better success rate with the Memorex, so does the make of CDR have any effect on the success of the backup - incidentally the Imation are significantly more expensive per disc than the Memorex so quality couldn't be an issue surely? The current score is 8 successful against 3 unsuccesful backups. Any ideas / suggestions would be welcome. |

get cd clone its compatible with your writer if its a ricoh mp7080a with firmware 1.10 or better is required (REMEMBER CD CLONE IS ONLY COMPATIBLE WITH A FEW WRITERS) I've just seen you have got cd clone yes you are better having a mod chip installed yes some of the coaster may play in a chiped psx there is no arm in trying them in a chip psx to see if they work (i posted this on the wrong post so i will leave it. It may help) sorry

I have never had much luck with imation cdr's and as backitup said you are better off getting a internal mod-chip installed

An internal Mod chip is definately the way forward for you!
Get a good branded media such as TDK os Verbatum but steer well clear of the black cdr's!
