Please Charlie tell me

I just wanna have an information about your Origa chip, because I may buy one(I have a scph 10000):

-You have the 1.11 ver. Does it play DVDR
-What kind of ver. of DVD region X or you using (pal, jap or ?)
-Do you have any problems with originals or backups?

Now there is a new version of the origa (1.2 from 10th dec. 01)
I heard that the ver. 1.12 wasn't good, I hope the new one is ok!

Thanx for answering!

YES but only because I kept the original modchip.com chip alongside OrigaChip. It is the modchip.com chip that allows DVD-Rs to play, booted behind a larger TOC original (which can be PAL because of the OrigaChip).

-What kind of ver. of DVD region X or you using (pal, jap or ?)
PAL because that's what the OrigaChip does; it plays import originals. Sort of perversely, I can load a backup JAP DVDR-X behind the PAL one and a backup game behind that!

-Do you have any problems with originals or backups?
No problems whatsoever.

You may find OrigaChips difficult to find owing to the legal pressure being exerted by Sony on the manufacturers (Messiah and NEO4 have stopped production).

So there isn't a problem to use DVD Region X pal to boot any Backup cd (pal, jap and us)?

I know that times are hard now, but lik-sang received today a amount of origa 1.2 in stock and of course I think that origachip.com will be able (at the moment, but maybe no for long) to sell some.

Thanx a lot!

ANSWER: That's what I said.

ANSWER: Order it NOW!

My standard note of caution: In considering my opinions which are based on my own experiences with the environment posted in my signature, your decisions are taken at your own risk, of course.

ANSWER: Bearing in mind that I have the JAP SCPH 15000, the "original" modchip was the modchip.com Utility Disk Beta. I posted the DVD-R boot method for this about a month ago. The v1.25 OrigaChip does play DVDRs I believe (check the Origachip web site please).

Is there anything else i should no about the ORIGACHIP be4 purchassing it?
ANSWER: Check the version you order against its published functionality on the OrigChip website. It boots import originals directly and backups via a swap trick.

do u have to no what kind of ps2 you have be4 ording an origachip?
ANSWER: Yes - there are three versions (US/PAL/JAP). A future release (now in development suspension I understand) is a single configurable chassis. What is your PS2 - Remind me?

Import originals are originals from a different region. If you have a Jap PS2, import originals would be US and PAL, for example.
