Help with booting EA game on a type 4 30001 ps2

yeah, my disc tray wont open when i hold and let go of the reset button and when i press O+R1 the gameshark goes back to its main menu, could anyone help or tell me what to do step by step?

There are two wiring diagrams for the version 4 PS2,a 5 wire install and a 8 wire install . The 5 wire doesn't support the ea sports boot sequence. Pins 3,5, and 6 are not used so the tray will not open if you hold down the reset button, all ea sports games must be patched using the addzero patcher. you can get it at Zimas PS2 dev page at www.ps2ownz.com
