Do i need a mod chip to play burned games? And if i do, could you tell me where to get one? Thanks

No, you don't, but if you don't wanna have cd problems , buy yourself one at www.modchip.com.
All those swap techniques can damage you Ps2 and it's noth worth it. |

for psx you need a modchip. it doesnt work without one. i dont know about ps2 but as far as i know u need one too there.

Actually you can get a game enhancer (looks and works like a game shark) that does just as good of a job. You just plug it in the serial port on the backof the psx (depending on your version of psx that is). Mineworks great andit does not void the warranty like a mod chip would. If you don't install the mod chip correctly, then you could do some serious internal damage. The game enhancer is a good alternative because it's easy. You do have to "swap disk" how-ever the laser is not on nor is the disk moving so there is no damage.

If you dont want to mess with your innards and youve got a psx or ps1 I find that the cd exchanger works a treat, its just a CD that fools the psx into thinking it has an original disk. They even supply a little bit of plastic so swapping the CDs is no problem.
