opening patch.com (game: Terracide) in Vista

i just got the no-CD patch.com file for Terracide, but when i try to open the patch it says the following:

The version of this file is not compatible with the version of Windows you're running. Check your computer's system information to see whether you need an x86 (32 bit) or x64 (64 bit) version of the program, and then contact the software publisher

Do any of you have any ideas on how to execute this patch so i can play the game without the CD?

Edit: i'm running a 64 bit system

The problems seems the 32 bit architecture patch don run on the 64 bit OS
Try go right click the exe choose compat tab choose Windows XP and see what happens

Or check the publisher (depending how old is the game) if have a 64 bit patch

64-bit Windows doesn't run DOS programs. Try the patch inside DOSBox or something.
