Fitting a Chip

Say I had never opened my PS2 before and I wanted to replace my current chip with and origachip, what tools would be required to do this? and would it be too difficult for an absolute newbie? It's a V4, is there much chance of frying/killing myself, or even worse the sony .

I hope someone can help.

You need 1mm solder tip and wire. The chip is said to be difficult to install and an expert can do it in 2 hours. You have to be a soldering whizzo to do any PS2 modchip. If you know someone who is a soldering whizzo, get them to do it. There will be nothing fried if, for example, two point get inadvertently joined - you'll just lose functionality (but I take no responsibility for this advice which if taken is at your own risk).

I think the message is to get a soldering whizzo to do it for you.
