Help booting games with PS2 chip installed
Ok, I just installed a PS2 chip from modchip.com and followed the directions perfectly, and had no problems during the install.
I was able to get a PS1 copy to work when I tried it, but I am not sure how I did it. This verified for me that the install was good. Now, each time I go to play a PS1 copy, it won't work. The directions say to hold down reset for 2-3 seconds when powering on the PS2 and then the game will play just fine, but the problem I am having is that when you flip the switch in the back to turn it on, it really doesn't activate the unit until you hit the eject button. Sure, the system is on, but doesn't display video until you hit the tray open button. This is the confusing part for me. It seems that no matter what I try, it won't work. I hold the reset button down when I turn it on, when I open or close the tray, etc. Nothing. What is driving me nuts is that I got it to work the first time I tried it, but it was late, and I have forgotten what I did or how I did it. Could someone please shed some light on this and what I am doing wrong? Many Thanks, R |

ok, i have only tried booting and "original" ps2 disc twice and it worked fine..
im assuming u r using NEO2, right? if so, turn on ur ps2, put in the PSX original and then put it in sleep mode - ie so it is on at the back but the green light is red. ![]() then, turn it on and hold the power button until the blue tray light comes on - approx. 1 second. to play PSX backups they should just boot automatically - if not u dont have a NEO2 chip? or have installed wrong?? hope that helps! |
