burning ps2 dvd-rom games, and playing them with the neo 2 modchip?? Help!

Okay, i have the neo mod chip w/ gameshark. Burning ps2 cd's are fine and playing them are fine. But i'm having trouble figuring the whole dvd based ps2 games out. Okay....is it possible to burn dvd-rom based games on a regular cd writer? Can you only burn them on dvd writers? Will they play on the neo modchipped ps2 even though they are burnt? Someone who knows about this stuff..who has a neo 2 chip installed and uses the gameshark...lemme know what you do to play these dvd-rom games????
