A copy of Tony Hawk 2 tells me I have a bad memory card when trying to save

Hey,
I know that I don't have a bad memory card because it saves for any other game. I was thinking that this may be because it is a copied game and in that case there might be some gameshark code to help me out. If anyone has any ideas then please, do tell.

Thanks in advance

I've got the same problem too, but, (PREPARE YOURSELF TO HEAR THIS), i've had the same message even if i'm playng with the ORIGINAL version of Tony Hawk 2.
(it tells me I have a bad memory card when trying to save, but only in the CAREER mode, i can save a skatepark made by myself)
The memory card is good and its work for all the game that i have.

Well, i'm from Italy and i have the PAL version of the game, and i'm thinkin that maybe the problem is in the mod-chip that my playstation mount (the series is a 9001)

If anyone had a solution please tell me!!

Have had problems saving Tony Hawks 2 as well (backup or original), found that the game has trouble recognising certain makes of memory cards, especially datel & joytech best bet is to use a sony product, had no problems with these.
If not that then ???????

Some game's (e.g. Driver, Tony Hawks Pro Skateboarding 2, Dave Mirra Bmx) don't like to save to memory cards when you have an expansion device plugged in. (i.e. GameShark, X-Plorer, Game Enhancer) Have you tried unplugging these devices and then tried to save? i think that might solve your problems!

Well, i'm using a Playstation memory card (the original one) and it doesn't want to save anyway.

The only SHARK device that i have plugged in my playstation is the JOYPAD, but i don't think is going to be the problem...

does anyone has any other answer? thanks in advance...

i have both copies of tony hawks 2 and i have CDX gameshark plugged into the memory card slot 2 at all times. Luckily for me i have had no problems what so ever on saving my game unless i use a memory card that is not offically sony.

I'm 99% sure that tony hawks 2 will work with no 3rd party peripherals plugged in and if you are using a memory card that is not a sony official one.

How do i know this? well i have an official sony memory card with official sony joypads and no other third party peripherals plugged into my psx (except of course, my modchip =p) and tony hawks 1 and 2 (both backups) work with no problems what-so-ever.

So it sounds like third party products seem to be causing the problem here, but if u unplug them when the game is saving then everything should work OK.

a lot of games have this prob.
it has something to do with non org, sony equip.
and the most prob. give the ACTION REPLAY cartridge.

a) take it out
b) insert the code for the game to not detect a serial plugin.
found at www.actionreplay.co.uk or something

this may be true but tony hawks2 also works on my other memory cards which are no official. So it could be something to do with your copy or what chip you h!ave
