Flock Demo protected

I wanted to know, why the demo exe of Flock is Securom protected???

Code:
Scanning -> Flock.exe
File Type : Exe, Size : 10131456 (09A9800h) Byte(s)
[Heuristics] -> Flag : 00000000000000000000000000000001
[!] SecuROM Detected - Version 07.39.0005
[!] Possible CD/DVD-Key or Serial Check -> cdkey
- Scan Took : 0.579 Second(s)
but thats a download game(STEAM or Direct2Drive).
and often securom games require DVD for playing.

Therefore i want to know too if there is a retail version of the game???

So that crackers cannot take any hints from its code to help with cracking the full version.

no, years ago this was a nice 'trick', nowadays most developers make the demo exe a seperate build, with parts deliberately missing.. thats why you can't simply try and crack something with the demo exe... this used to work in the past (especially on really old games), nowadays things moved on, developers learned a bit....

also for securom, steam or direct2drive games can use securom pa, which can have the disk check removed, and the protection being activation based (eg: bioshock, gta iv etc..), so something being reported as securom does not always mean that the disk check is present...
