Copy Questions!!!!!!!!

Hi just thought i would rack the brains of all u clever people out there.

I am having problems copying psx games.
Can someone tell me if it is right what I am doing.

1. extract game to hdd using CDrwin.
2. apply patch if needed.
3. burn back to CD.

If this is correct it hasnt worked on about 3 games so far.

Also I have seen quite a few posts that if the game doesnt need a patch then I can just make a 1.1 copy using CDclone.

Please help as I am slowly gaining a collection of coasters!!!!!!!

it looks like u are doing it correctly. go to www.psxcopyworld.com then go to the playstation section, and you will find backup instructions that will give the correct settings for burning games.

It depends on the make of your burner.
If it can write raw DAO and is supported by Clonecd then you should use that to copy unprotected games.

If your burner can read and write subchannel data then you should be able to use Clonecd to copy protected games without a patch.

If cdrwin does not work using the method you have described, then you probably have a Phillips or Phillips based (Freecom,Traxdata etc) burner which seems unable to write patched UK Pal games.

Most games will probably not need a patch. Using CDrwin, follow these exactly and u should not go wrong...

1. Save image file name on local hard drive (no spaces or characters in name) use star.bin for Star wars, etc.
2. Copy RAW
3. Select ignore error recovery
4. Select dissable Jitter dection
5. Subcode analysis should be AUTO if there are only One date file and one audio file. If there are multiple audio files (a lot fo Red circles), then set to Fixed
6. Record at 1x speed
7. Read Recount = 50 minimum (works great here)
8. Start recording
