You need crack allways.
The copies available from P2P networks will be pre-cracked. No point uploading them otherwise.

No I don't believe everyone visiting here is a legitimate purchaser but that is far different from your unfounded statement that 95% are pirates. By the same token, I don't believe that every new poster with poor typing skills and imperfect English is a troll even though there are clearly many examples of such.

I can ultimately only speak for myself and I have purchased every game I hold since the mid-80's (Bard's Tale III and Ultima V being the first ones). I rely on sites like GCW to let me play the games I purchase (see here on why CD-checks are a problem for legitimate users) and, since the advent of Starforce and similarly aggressive DRM, I now check GCW before purchasing any new game. No crack = no purchase - unless the game is already check/DRM-free.

Hello.

Did anyone get The Witcher: Enchanced Edition to work in Vista (32bit)? I mean the retail one, buold 1280, not 1282. It worked for some time, but I've installed Daemon Tools, now it doesn't work, it gets crashed everytime I try to start it :S It worked on XP and after I uninstalled Daemon Tools [on vista], however only for some time, after I restarted computer it didn't work anymore :/

Now I must learn DVD-tossing, I have no time for it as I'm recording a lot...

Anyone?

Have you installed the No-CD fix from GameCopyWorld? If not, then you definitely should try it since a crash with Daemon tools would suggest that TAGES (the CD-check used by the Witcher) may be the cause.

Well, that's what I'm doing. For 1280 the only crack is by Skidrow (from GCW) and one another. These are the only ones. As I told you, since installation of Daemon Tools it doesn't work, I've tried uninstalling it, still doesn't work (crash) and I need Daemon Tools anyway.

However, on XP it was working... But I've got a new comp and it's not worth to use XP anymore (and make even more partitions)

How I see it: you try to install the game from a image mounted in Daemon Tools. What's wrong with installing the game the original DVDs??? If you have the DVD's you wouldn't need DT...Just my two cents...

Woot, no. I'm trying to run it with a crack. No any information needed what I'm doing with Daemon Tools (making images actually), the problem is that it crashes when I'm using crack, and actually it doesn't even work with the image (it says Emulation software detected), but it was working on XP, tho...

What do you mean by this?

And its possible that if say your using Nero the image drive is also considered emulation also.

Try removing the Tages drivers manually then (right-click on My Computer, select Properties/Hardware/Device Manager, then View/Show hidden devices, expand the "Non-Plug and Play Drivers" section that this reveals, right-click the atksgt.sys and lirsgt.sys entries and select Uninstall for each).

These drivers don't need to be present (you can delete the related files in Windows\System32\Drivers also) if you are using the no-CD fix and they could potentially cause conflict.
