PSX patched images question

Hi,

I have a question about patches for psx games. My pstwo is modded with matrix infinity the newest and the console is PAL. I just bought a few NTSC psx games and i can't get them to work on my modded pstwo. But it is a strange problem. When i patch a NTSC psx game with a NTSC to PAL patch and it doens't have a selector then my pstwo will not play the game properly. But when it has a selector it will work fine. So patches like PAL4U do not work because they don't have a selector. But i just bought chrono cross and i can't play it because there isn't a patch with a selector.

My new tv doesn't support NTSC. I can't play anymore on my old tv because i get really bad burning eyes from that tv. I have an eye disease.

Does somebody know how to solve this problem? Or does anyone know why my pstwo doens't play those games. My old ps2 does play them perfectly on the new tv so that's rather strange. But my old modded ps2 doesn't have a multi disk option for psx games so i can't play chrono cross on that one.

If someone could help me i would greatly appreciate it.

hold triangle and circle when you boot the ps2 then turn on video force mode and set it to PAL

Unfortunately i did that already. When i do that the game runs good but there is a large chunk missing at the bottom of the screen. It's as big is 10inches. I can do a zoomed play and make it fit on the screen but then i must play chrono cross in widescreen. The game is originaly 4:3 so that's horrible to look at.
I did almost everything to solve this but i can't get it to work normal.

Do you have any suggestions?

PAL video is a higher resolution than NTSC if you play a PAL game on an NTSC TV some of the screen gets cut off

I play an NTSC game on a PAL tv. So you mean that when playing a NTSC game on a PAL tv that a chunk is missing because the resolution is smaller? I never had this with my ps2 games. But the ps1 games had very small resolutions.

I talked to someone last night who said that the pstwo model had bad ps1 support. The backward compatibility is only for the region that the game is bought. That should mean that even after you modded your pstwo that it won't view ps1 games properly when it is a NTSC game on a PAL system. I have read a lot of posts about this issue. I don't know if it is true but i think it is. But the problem can also be my tv. Who knows.

But this can not be solved with some kind of trick? I can play the game in full screen (widescreen) but that looks od but it's better than nothing. A jewel like chrono cross can not stay unplayed.
